Multi-server console
Open twelve hosts in one window and move between them with a keystroke. Every tab keeps its own scrollback, colour profile and working directory, so context never leaks between production and staging.
Free desktop SSH client · v2.4.1
LaConsola is a GUI terminal for people who live in SSH. Keep a dozen sessions open side by side, move files over built-in SFTP, and fire your saved snippets in one click — on Windows, macOS, Ubuntu and Debian, in English or Spanish.

What's inside
Terminal, tab manager, file transfer client and command runner — one window, one theme, one session list, two languages.
Open twelve hosts in one window and move between them with a keystroke. Every tab keeps its own scrollback, colour profile and working directory, so context never leaks between production and staging.
Drag a folder from your desktop straight onto the server. Queue recursive uploads, resume interrupted transfers and watch real throughput per stream — no second app, no dropped connection.
A real terminal, not a command runner. vim, top, psql, ncurses menus and arrow keys behave exactly as they do locally.
Save the commands you retype every week and fire them at one host or twenty, with a confirmation step before anything destructive.
Switch the entire interface — tabs, file panes, dialogs and terminal chrome — between a bright daylight theme and a low-strain night theme. Try the toggle in the header.
Ready snippets
Write a snippet once — the steps, the targets, whether it needs confirmation. Next time it is a single click from the console, and every run is logged with its output so you can prove what happened.
# snippet: deploy-api.yml name: deploy-api targets: - prod-web-01 - prod-web-02 steps: - cd /srv/api && git pull --ff-only - npm ci --omit=dev - sudo systemctl restart api.service confirm: true notify: [email protected]
How it works
Grab the signed build for your platform. No account, no trial timer, no licence server to phone home.
Paste a hostname or import your existing SSH config. Keys, passwords and 2FA prompts all work; secrets are encrypted in your OS keyring.
Turn your runbook into a one-click action. Restart a service, tail a log, rotate files — on one server or the whole fleet.
From the field
★★★★★
“I replaced two terminal windows and a file manager with LaConsola. The snippet list alone saves me an hour every week.”
★★★★★
“Sessions survive a laptop restart. That sounds small until you are juggling fourteen hosts across three environments.”
★★★★★
“Nuestro equipo entero trabaja con la interfaz en español. Es el único cliente en el que nunca hago alt-tab.”
Questions
Yes. The desktop app is free to download and free to use, with no account, no card and no feature unlocked behind a paywall. XAMTA INFOTECH funds development directly, so there is nothing to upsell you during a deploy.
Windows 10 and 11, macOS 12 and newer (Intel and Apple silicon), Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or newer, and Debian 11 or newer. The interface is identical on all four.
Yes. Transfer files by dragging them into the session, queue whole folders recursively, resume broken uploads and run up to four parallel streams per host. Throughput and remaining time are shown live.
A snippet is a short ordered list of commands plus the hosts it should run on. You launch it from the console with one click, optionally with a confirmation prompt, and LaConsola streams the output of every step back into the tab.
Yes. LaConsola ships with a complete English and a complete Spanish interface. Switch from the header or in Settings → Language: menus, dialogs, preference labels and error messages change immediately, even with sessions open, and the choice is remembered per device. Your session names, snippets, file paths and terminal output are never translated.
Settings → Terminal holds font family, font size from 10 to 24 px, a scrollback buffer you can raise to 100 000 lines, a blinking cursor toggle, copy-on-select so a selection lands in the clipboard instantly, a confirmation prompt before closing a live session, and a keepalive interval so idle gateways stop dropping you. Changes apply to tabs that are already open.
In your operating system's credential store, encrypted at rest — never on a XAMTA server. On Linux LaConsola encrypts secrets through the GNOME keyring (gnome_libsecret / libsecret); on Windows it uses Credential Manager and on macOS the Keychain. No secret is written to a plaintext config file, and because there is no cloud account there is no remote copy of your credentials to lose.
Yes. It respects your existing SSH config, jump hosts and proxies. For procurement questions, security questionnaires or a custom build, write to [email protected] and you will hear back within one working day.
